Instant Pot Mung Beans
This is a quick and easy Instant Pot recipe for mung beans that are perfectly soft without having to soak them first. Its a healthy dish for a busy day because its full of fragrant spices.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dried mung beans
- 3 cups water
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions:
Run cold water over the mung beans to clean them
Select Saut mode on the Instant Pot after turning it on
Add the cumin seeds to the hot oil and stir them around until they start to pop
Put in the diced onions and cook until they turn golden brown
Add the coriander powder, turmeric, and garam masala and mix them in
Cook until softened after adding the chopped tomatoes
Add water and mung beans that have been rinsed
Mix well
Put the lid back on the Instant Pot and set it to Pressure Cook
Wait 12 minutes
After youre done, let the pressure drop naturally for 5 minutes and then quickly release it
Add salt, and then add fresh cilantro on top
Enjoy while hot
